LNC Locator Ads

Dear AALNC Members,

The LNC Locator® is a valuable tool for locating legal nurse consultants and/or nurse experts, and AALNC has therefore been promoting this tool to attorneys.  This year, the Board opted to place ads in several electronic publications and websites so click-through rates could be gathered and analyzed.

In 2014, LNC Locator® ads ran in:
  • DRI’s MedLaw Update (issues 3 and 4)
  • AAJ’s Products Liability Law Reporter (in August and September) (pictured below)
  • DRI’s Expert Witness Database webpage (in November and December)

Have you updated your AALNC profile recently to ensure your most current information is available to those utilizing the LNC Locator® tool?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear AALNC Members,

As we begin a long holiday weekend filled with precious time spent with family and friends, I want to take a moment to wish you and your families many blessings for which to be thankful.

2014 marked AALNC’s 25th anniversary, and I am thankful for the many blessings our association has had over those years.

I am thankful for….

….the current leaders of AALNC and ALNCCB who work tirelessly every day to fulfill their respective missions and ensure AALNC remains the premiere association for legal nurse consultants.

….the past leaders of AALNC and ALNCCB who have paved the way for our association to be what it is today.

….the future leaders of AALNC and ALNCCB who will govern the association and certification board and lead them in continued success.

….the countless other volunteers (past, current, and future) who donate their time and expertise to AALNC and ALNCCB in so many ways, including committee and taskforce work, speaking, authoring, item-writing, etc.

….the family members of our volunteers who support their desire to give back to the specialty practice and to the association and certification board.

….the staff who work diligently every day to manage AALNC’s and ALNCCB’s ongoing operations.

What are you thankful for in your professional and personal lives?

Wishing you and your families a very blessed and happy Thanksgiving,

Replenishing the wellspring

Dear AALNC Members,

We all wear many “hats” in our lives:  spouse, parent, grandparent, sibling, child, employee, volunteer, etc.  Our family, professional, and volunteer commitments often feel as though they compete for our limited time and deplete our wellspring of energy, leaving little opportunity for us to recharge and re-energize.

However, taking time to replenish this well is essential, as it allows us to remember what’s important in our lives, remember why we do what we do, and renew our devotion to the activities and commitments that are close to our hearts.

I encourage you all, especially our many valued AALNC volunteers, to regularly devote time to unplug your devices and recharge yourselves.  Take a moment each day to focus on yourself, reflect on your many blessings, and recognize that satisfaction comes from within.  This perspective is summed up in the following quote, which is hung en route to a monastery in the beautiful country of Bhutan (pictured below):  “Happiness is not something readymade.  It comes from your own actions.”

How do you replenish your well?  In what ways do those activities impact your various commitments?

Warmly,
Julie Dickinson
