A look back with many thanks

Dear AALNC Members,

It is hard to believe a year has gone by already!  It seems just yesterday that I shared with you in Denver the plans for AALNC for the 2014-2015 term-year.  And now, it is already time to transition to the 2015-2016 Board under the competent leadership of Varsha Desai.

As this year comes to a close, I want to thank you for the opportunity to lead you this past year.  I am humbled and honored to have had your trust as well as the chance to work and interact with so many of our wonderful members, volunteers, staff, and more.

In Indianapolis this week, at AALNC’s 2015 Forum, I will share and celebrate with you the many accomplishments that our association has achieved this past year.  These achievements were possible only through the tremendous efforts of our invaluable and amazing volunteers.  They have given countless hours to our association, and through their collective efforts, AALNC has continued as the premier association for legal nurse consultants.

These volunteers include:

    • ALNCCB
    • JLNC

I also want to thank AALNC staff (JLNC Editor Wendie Howland, Director of Programs Shannon Holy, and our SmithBucklin management team) for their ongoing and much appreciated contributions to AALNC.

And of course, last but certainly not least, I wish to offer my heartfelt and deep thanks to the AALNC Board of Directors:  Varsha Desai, Beth Zorn, Mary Sussex, Debbie Pritts, Kim Beladi, and Susan Carleo.  These women have never ceased to astonish me with their tireless efforts, extensive experience and individual perspectives, constructive honesty, thoughtful analysis and discussion, openness to new ideas, and unwavering dedication.  Their contributions to AALNC cannot be overstated.  It was my true honor and fortune to work alongside such amazing women and leaders.  Our association is indebted to these women for their invaluable service.

Thank you, AALNC volunteers, for a tremendous year!

With tremendous gratitude and appreciation,

Opportunity knocks

Dear AALNC Members,

I am a big believer in seizing opportunities that present themselves.

In less than 6 weeks, Legal Nurse Consultants will have an amazing opportunity to network with hundreds of other LNCs and other industry professionals and to learn about a variety of topics that are pertinent to our specialty practice of nursing.

This opportunity only comes once per year; will you seize it?  The 2015 Forum Committee has done a tremendous job of developing an educational itinerary to meet the needs of AALNC’s diverse members.  This year, the speakers include attorneys, a physician, pharmacists, nurse life care planners, an insurance executive, and many board-certified LNCCs®.  Whether you are a new LNC eager to learn about this specialty practice and obtain your first case or an experienced LNC seeking to recertify your LNCC® board certification or looking for subcontractors, AALNC’s annual Forum has something for everyone.  There are occasions every day to network with other LNCs and the speakers and to walk away with new knowledge to assist you in your practice.

Opportunity knocks.  Will you answer?

I look forward to seeing you there!

Warmly,
Julie Dickinson
